I've been MIA for a couple of weeks. Been busy and not really following the themes. I went with an outdoorsy theme today and had a 7 mile hike in the Cleveland National Forrest (it's in Southern California, I don't want to confuse anyone who knows where I live).

It was a very beautiful, inspiring hike. Enjoy the pictures!

Day 16 January 16, 2010

I took Kaitlyn to the park today and had a blast with the new camera. I actually got the swinging shot that I never got with my old camera because it would blur.

I'm falling behind

I haven't forgotten about the challenge. I'm still taking pictures, but have not been able to post any since Tuesday. I will post some this weekend.
I'm enjoying everyone else's posts though. :)

Reflections Day 12 January 12, 2010

I skipped yesterday because it was my birthday and I was too busy to upload pictures. I got my new camera yesterday. A Nikon Coolpix S570. I'm pretty excited about it.

I chose to do a topic from last week because I stumbled across this reflection today and thought it would be a pretty cool picture. I threw in a 2nd one to make up for day 11 and added it because I love trees! :)

I had to get up at the crack of dawn to do a bowl-a-thon with Alyssa's school. The kids had these giant sunglasses and Kaitlyn was amused by them. This is my photo of the day.

Here's my post for today. I stuck with favorite things again. I drive by this house on my way to my sister's house and love the old farm house with the windmill and mailbox so I snuck by and got a couple of pictures of it.

I took a couple pictures of co-workers at a birthday dinner this evening. I'm posting a couple, but they don't really fall into the categories from this week.

We had a big birthday bash for myself, and two of my co-workers at the Yardhouse. We had a great time!

What is it? Day 6 1/6/2010

This is pretty obvious, I think. I was driving through a very "not nice" neighborhood for work today and kept noticing the same posts over and over were filled with nails from when people put their posters out for Yard Sales and Lost Dogs. I thought I'd capture a piece of that because it interested me.

Day 5 Favorite Things

This is a picture of my favorite thing of all time. My photo wall. I'm a huge photo person and I love my staircase wall that houses most of our pictures.

A Pair Of...

Tennis Shoes. I'm posting my tennis shoes because I am trying to run more this year than last year. It won't be hard to beat that because I didn't run that much in 2009. I ran 1 1/2 miles tonight and walked 1/2 mile. I had a goal of 10 miles per week, but don't know if that will actually come to fruition every week.

I babysat my niece and nephew today and Kaitlyn loves them! I let them take turns driving the Escalade Power Wheels that my nephew got for Christmas several years ago. This is them having fun.
I also took a couple of pictures that are kind of random. I love the different palm trees and zoomed in on one while we were outside.
The third picture is the thermostat to show everyone how warm it was today. :) In January!!

Day 2, January 2, 2010

It is a beautiful day here in sunny Southern California so I was inspired by some flowers in our front yard (and my neighbor's yard) while John was outside in shorts and a t-shirt washing his car and installing his new roof rack for his surf board.

The yellow flower is "messed with" in terms of saturation and color. The fence is not purple, but I thought it looked really cool that way. :)

I took this picture of Kaitlyn getting ready to go ice skating for the first time. She kind of liked it, but didn't want me to let go of her.
